Program Summary

JEEP is a 6-month Education and Leadership Program for Latino and other youth of color, ages 14 to 18 and offers a stipend for successful completion of the program.

The program aims to empower young men to “un-learn” society’s definition of “manhood” and what it means to be a young man growing up in the community. Through the promotion of cultural awareness and healing, violence prevention and intervention strategies, and skill-building activities centered around self-esteem, teen dating violence, and the promotion of healthy relationships, young men become active and contributing members within their families, and among their partners and peers.

Like their Femmes Against Violence counterparts, the young men develop and conduct educational presentations at High Schools and other community based organizations around issues of teen dating and domestic violence, and their role as positive male figures within their circles.

The program is offered year round via 2 cycles. Each cycle is 6 months in duration.
